The Last Supper School, in association with B.B. Academy, recently hosted a free eye camp on November 9th, 2024, at their main office in Thakurpukur Srijani, Kolkata. This commendable initiative aimed to provide comprehensive eye care services to the local population.The camp was open to all, regardless of age or socio-economic background. While 250 coupons were pre-distributed, additional registrations were accepted on-site. A team of four skilled doctors conducted thorough eye examinations, offering immediate solutions like prescription eyeglasses. For those diagnosed with cataracts, the school facilitated free surgeries scheduled for November 19th, 2024.The camp operated from 10 AM to 3:30 PM, and it is estimated that over 250 individuals benefited from this generous outreach program. The medical team meticulously examined each patient, diagnosing various eye ailments, including refractive errors, age-related macular degeneration, and cataract. For those diagnosed with cataracts, the team provided essential guidance and support regarding surgical intervention. The Last Supper School proudly inaugurated its new headquarters at Thakurpukur Srijani, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. This grand event also celebrated the establishment of their institutional branch, Blessed Beginners Academy. The inaugural program was for two days, each filled with meaningful activities and joyous celebrations. The first day of the ceremony was held on the auspicious day of Falharini Amavasya, dedicated to worshiping Goddess Kali. The event was a family affair, attended by staff members, their families, relatives, close friends, students, and their parents. This sacred worship set a spiritual tone for the inauguration, invoking blessings for the new headquarters and all future endeavors. The second day began with the sit-and-draw competition, which was open to all which was free for all. This inclusive event aimed to encourage creativity and community participation. Following the competition, the day unfolded with a series of cultural programs featuring singing and dance performances by students of the institute. These performances showcased the diverse talents of the students and added a vibrant, festive atmosphere to the event. The highlight of the day was the presence of the chief guest, Bhaktipriyananda Maharaj, the head of Barisha Ramakrishna Math. His enlightening speech inspired and uplifted everyone present there, emphasizing the importance of education and spirituality in personal and communal growth.
On Environment Day 2024, The Last Supper School, in partnership with Blessed Beginners Academy, launched a commendable tree plantation program. This initiative aimed to enhance green cover and foster environmental stewardship within the community. During the event, students and staff distributed young plants to local households, encouraging residents to plant them in their gardens. By involving the community directly, the program not only aimed to increase the number of trees but also sought to instill a sense of responsibility towards nature among participants. Both educational institutions emphasized the importance of nurturing these plants, hoping to inspire long-term environmental care and awareness. The collaborative effort underscored the critical role of schools in leading sustainability initiatives, setting a positive example for future generations.
In line with our year-long agenda of holding regular Camps and Workshops, we had been an energetic associate in accomplishing the recently concluded ‘ Two-Day Adventure and Nature Camp’ organized by Vuvuzela Paribar at Ananda Ashram, Khalna, Bagnan, Howrah from 12th to 13th January 2024. The Camp was vibrant with the more than thirty participants, most of whom were from marginalised and downtrodden families. National level Climber & Rock climbing Judge, Juggler and Environmentalists were among the Instructors. Rappelling, River-crossings, Sky-watching, Hiking, Awareness on Bio-diversity were among the facets nurtured in the Camp.
